Folks, the potential for real problems for our troops with the execution of Saddam is an IMMEDIATE concern for prayer for their safety.
Please get on your knees or however you personally pray and cry out to the Lord for his protection for our beloved men and women who are in harms way!
Let's especially lift up Carnivore and his men as they have had it rough lately anyway. Folks please believe that God still hears and answers prayer!

From Retired Chief, an update plus some new items:
Pastor Ed,
You're probably aware of how the weather here has affected many families and business'. Fortunately we only lost power for a couple of hours, however, our online services have been sporatic. I'm just getting down to catching up on the news.
As for other things, this past wed I had to take Yvonne to the clinic because she kept falling by that time she was so covered in bruises, they decided it was best to have her taken to Virginia Mason in Seattle so a complete check up can be done. This was about 5:00 in the afternoon. By the time the tests were completed, it was nearly midnight. There were no broken bones, and blood test were neg but the urine checked showed a very extreme bladder infection that may be the source of her inbalance. Anyway, we did finally get home early the next morning. Since then it has been hard to take care of her and see to the other items that need to be done.
Von's sister has hired a Lawyer to see if we cant get Von on some kind of SSDI, but so far it still doesn't look good. Even though she has worked and paid into the Social Security for over 10 yrs we have been informed she doesn't qualify because she didn't work during the time ( 1980 - 1990). As you know we made the decision to have her leave the work force and become a stay at home Mom. both for Matt's sake and her health.
Von is still doing things she isn't supposed to like getting up and walking without assistance, and since her hospital visit, she has fallen 6 times.
That just about covers things in the past week please keep her in your prayers.
Thank you
Ray

I have a couple of personal needs that I would appreciate your prayers for.
1) I have had a cold for over a week now, and I feel worse today than any time since it started. The Lord has worked it out that I've been able to preach each time needed, but I ask that you pray that God will heal my body.
2) Our son Brock will be driving from Utah to Indiana later this week. Please pray for his safety.
Thank you all - I'm so blessed to have made friends with each of you!

Please be praying for Retired Chief's wife, Yvonne. He sent me this:
The last couple of days have been tough for her. This past Fri morning when she got up to go to the bathroom she lost her balance and took a head first dive into the bathtub. it took me nearly 20 min to finally get her standing but she now sports a huge black eye and scrapes on the right side of her face. plus she has bruising on her right hip and leg. She has a hard time standing or walking. Yesterday I had to take my son somewhere and I asked her if she would remain in her seat until I get back but she didn't and when I got home I found her laying on the floor of our bedroom. I really strained my shoulders attempting to get her up .

Please be praying for our friend Retired Chief who used to post on the blog. Below is an email I got from him when I asked how he had been doing.
"I'll be honest, I can say I'm alive and getting tired of kicking. With the Holiday season upon us again and still, no job with very few prospects, It's hard to say how I am doing. Sometimes I feel up but most of the time lately I'm down. I used to read about families having tough times during this time of year but never thought we'd be one of them."

I have 3 preacher friends who we meet together as Prayer Partners. One of the 3, Jerry Travis has had a relapse of his Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (cancer). We have become as close as brothers, and this is difficult for him, his family, his congregation, and us Prayer Partners. Please lift this entire situation up and ask God to remove the cancer again.
There is no actual cure, but it can go into remission which it has once already! God is still in the healing business!

Please pray for my 16 year old daughter who will be changing schools on Wednesday. She misses quit a bit of school due to a chronic illness, and that led the school to question our residency (hadn't been a problem the last 3 1/2 years). Rachel was living with my parents in a city about 12 miles from here.
She is obviously very upset with the changes and she needs prayers for her illness and for her to be able to adjust to her new school situation.

Another man serving his contry.
Jamie McRandle- USN Seal, He grew up with two, five acre parcels between his family and mine.
He is one monthy into a six month deployment to Iraq. (his first deployment was 12 months in Afghanland - with one month of that just before the WOT began.)(sneakin')
Good kid, like all of them. and if I was an Iraqi insurgent this Kid is no one I would like to meet anywhere at anytime for any reason other than just surrender.
He may be just a little unbalanced, he LOVES to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, at 30,000 ft)

This from an email from Mark Harvey, thought it was more than worthy of our time and prayers!
We have a young couple in our church, David and ChristinaKristynik. David is in Iraq and due to be sent back to the states in three weeks. He called Christina this morning at 9:30 am (our time) to say goodbye to her and their children (they have a 2 yr old and a ten month old). He and his group will be leaving at 4 pm today (ourtime) on foot to go into Baghdad...no vehicles or tanks will be taken. Their mission will last 2 or 3 days and the purpose is to go door to door and capture all snipers in the city. The commanders have told the men what a dangerous mission this is and it is very likely that most will not come back to their base. Christina is terrified and called on everyone in our church to pray. She said the men are also fearful. They were all told to call their families before they leave. I'm asking each of you to pray for these men and women for thenext 3days. If your church has a prayer chain, PLEASE call and askthem to pray.
Thank you.

This is from Garry (LCRW)...... he'll probably fill in some of the blanks this evening.
Daniel and Jordan Porter, both Army , Daniel is an Army Ranger Sniper, he lost his best friend yesterday to insurgents. He's hurting.
The problem also revolves around Daniel and Jordans parents [Bob and Sylvia], -in my church
Daniel and Jordan have not yet deployed but will be shortly. These parents are concerned.

My 74 yr old mother-in-law appears to be ready to go home and tired of fighting to stay around.
The gtood news is that after working onit for the past couple of decades, my wife was able to lead her through the sinners prayer last week - she is one of us now.
At any rate the prayer would be for an easy passing and for my father-in-law to be able to cope.

Nathan Aguire from the Dallas Metroplex area was KIA in the Baghdad Theater of Operations just a few days ago. Please pray for healing for the family members. I was not direct family but they are family just the same. I watched this young man grow up and Nathan was a very serious young man. He will be truly missed. His best friend is also family and his name is David. He is with the Stryker Unit and has taken the loss very hard. Again, please pray for healing as the families involved try to come to terms.

Please continue to pray about the upcoming elections, but let's also being praying for Spiritual Revival throughout our country, and that the so called "Silent Majority" remains silent no longer. This is our country, founded upon the principles of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Let's make sure that the loonies don't succeed in their attempts to take our country over. I feel like preachin' here, but let's just leave it at prayer tonight.
